Heliotrope Architects projected this residence located on a beautiful waterfront property in Orcas Islands comprised of a sandy beach as well as both meadow ad forest.
The home is situated between the beach and meadow, offering both distant water views and private territorial meadow views. The expression of the home is the synthesis of two primary interests of the owners: exceptional modern architecture and environmental sustainability.
The house uses a garden roof to retain storm-water and capture the roof runoff for use in flushing toilets. Additionally, grey-water is captured and used to water the garden.
